This wonderful selection of hand dyed threads in Cotton, Silk and Silk/Wool mix will give new meaning to your embroidery

“Impressions” – A range of threads that are a blend of 50% Wool/50% Silk and consist of a total of 337 stunning solid and variegated colours.

The solid colors of the “Impressions” coordinate with “Soie Cristale” silk colours and the hand-dyed variegates coordinate with “Watercolours” and “Waterlilies” colour range.
A very versatile thread which can be stitched on fine linens and up to the large counted tapestry canvas with satisfying results.
The blend of wool and silk gives a unique appearance as the two fibres reflect light in a different way which gives great depth to the work.
The thread has a similar weight to the “Wildflowers” but due to the wool and silk blend it has more “bounce”.
All “Impressions” threads are hand-dyed and normally colourfast but it is best to test reds and dark colours before washing.

Please Note: There are 33 metres of a single strand per skein.

“Watercolours” – A range of threads that are 3ply 100% Pima Cotton and have a total of 309 superb variegated colours.

The hand-dyed pima cotton of the “Watercolours” has a silky sheen finish which is especially prominent when long flat stitches are used in the embroidery.
The plies can be separates and one or more can be used according to the detail of the work or the pattern instructions.
A single ply is about the same weight as a Perle #5 cotton or the full six plies of a Stranded cotton
Recommended for specialised embroidery such as “Sashiko”.
All “Watercolours” threads are hand-dyed and normally colourfast but it is best to test reds and dark colours before washing.

Please Note: There are 9 metres per skein.

“Wildflowers” – A range of 100% Cotton single strand threads that have a total of 300 + superb variegated colours and 31 solid colours.

The single strand hand-dyed cotton has more of a matte finish when stitched.
One or more strands can be used together if the embroidery requires a heavier cover.
One strand is approximately the same weight as the old DMS “Flower” thread or “Medici” wool (both of which are no longer in existence) or it can be measured in weight as being between a Perle #8 and Perle #12 cotton.
It is available in all the same colors as “Watercolours” and the two threads can be used together.
There are 31 solid coloured threads to supplement and complement the variegated ones and “Wildflowers” can be used for bobbin lace work and hardanger embroidery.
All “Wildflower” threads are hand-dyed and normally colourfast but it is best to test reds and dark colours before washing.

Please Note: There are 33 metres of a single strand per skein.

“Waterlilies” – A range of 100% pure silk 12 ply threads with a total of 250 + superb variegated colours.

The 12 ply hand-dyed variegated silk gives a subtle sheen when stitched and has particularly good light reflection qualities.
Can be used as a single ply for very fine work or as many plies needed to satisfy the embroidery coverage.
Many of the colours are matched and numbered as per the “Watercolours” and “Wildflowers” but as the silk absorbs the dye differently to cotton the colours may be more subtle.
The range of solid coloured “Soie Cristale” Silks supplements and complements the variegated range of the “Waterlilies”.
All Waterlilies” silk threads are hand-dyed and normally colourfast but it is best to test reds and dark colours before washing.

Please Note: The thread is available in a 5.5Mtr skein

“Soie Cristale” – A range of 100% pure silk 12 ply threads with a total of nearly 240 in stunning solid colours.

The “Soie Cristale” is also a 12 ply pure silk thread but consist of a range of stunning solid colours that have been dyed on white or natural silk threads.
Can be used as a single ply for very fine work or as many plies needed to satisfy the embroidery coverage.
The range of solid coloured “Soie Cristale” Silks supplements and complements the variegated range of the “Waterlilies”.
All “Soie Cristale” threads are hand-dyed and normally colourfast but it is best to test reds and other dark colours before washing.

The full range of the beautiful graded colours is stocked for this thread.
Please Note: The thread is available in a 5.5Mtr skein

“Antica” – A heavier metal thread in a range of 9x antique colours.

This thread unravels easily but can be controlled by a dab of Fray check or clear nail polish at the end to prevent fraying.
Also before threading the needle, snap the length of yarn gently to tighten the chainette and make the threading and stitching easier.
It is a little bit thicker than Perl #5 cotton but not as thick as the Perl #3.
Normally used on 14 or 18 count “evenweave” but is fine for “bargello” stitches on 24 count “congress” cloth.
This beautiful thread will add to texture and dimension to any form of stitched project.
Please Note: There are 9 meters on the card.

“Snow” – A synthetic metallic thread with a fleck sparkle throughout the thread.

Similar in weight to Perl #5 cotton or six strands of cotton floss or one ply of Persian wool.
This beautiful thread has lots of sparkle and will add to texture and dimension to any form of stitched project.
Decorative stitches look brilliant when worked with snow white or one of the other 27 new colours

Please Note: There are 9 meters per skein.
